Just had the MSNZ email. Although I never met Ian, I had a fair bit to do with him when working with MSNZ trying to construct a template for sanctioned series race rules.
Sad that Pro-Drive, the driver education system for young drivers that he was overseeing, didn't carry on as it was superb set up.

Gutted, Hayden P posted his condolenses on facebook. Had a little to do with him, certainly a well respected bloke in motorsport circles.

RIP Ian, went to school with his son Reon and dealt with Ian during the nineties with formula Vee and other things. Awesome awesome guy that done great things for motorsport in NZ, will be missed.
