Stoner is already mouthing off, it will be interesting to see how he goes in a car, otherwise he will be just another noisey Ozzy. Good on a bike doesn't mean good in a car.

No, I think it's for real. His old man is a true blue Ford man, he grew up with Fords. SBR have years of experience with Fords, to jump ship and start over with Merc's is just going to put him at the back of the pack or even with DNF's so can't blame him. Despite what one certain unknowledgeable bogan in here thinks, he is a great driver and at only 23 years old had a long and promising career ahead of him. What were you doing at 23! It will properly take SBR another 10 years to get back to where they are at now.

If you where knowledgeable you would understand that Erebus motorsport have brought a licence to race v8 supercars just like 888 did sbr will be no more before too much longer. As for Erebus racing taking 10 years to get to where sbr are now your dreaming these guys have serious bucks and that's what wins races

I don't think you understand the new concept of the COTF next year.They will all be starting with a completely new chassis and running gear from the same supplier,the only diference will be the engines which will all be the same specs,so it will come down to set up as to who sets the pace in the early rounds.If they don't understand their setup within the first 6 rounds they never will.

No. I understand it. But don't think much of it. It's just becoming a bigger joke than it already is. A COTF with a fake Merc' body and 'category' engine wow. Mercedes-Benz Germany wont nothing of it (because it will lower the prestige of the brand) but Mercedes-Benz Australia has talked them into it. they properly will run they own engines over the 'category' engines that already has established technology but we'll see how they go. Only time will tell, not that I'll be watching. As far as I'm concerned triple eight racing should had a Vodafone badge on the grill not a Holden, Ford, Nissan, or Mercedes-Benz. Bring back the days of group 'A' because this nothing but oversized kart racing! Like I said, "Don't blame he for leaving" :-)

Couple of points mate, MB Germany talked MB Aust' into it, but Erebus/SBR are actually a 'customer' of AMG, nothing to do with MB. Also they are NOT using a "catergory" engine, they will be useing a "small" version of the 6.2 AMG V8 that is in the SLS's.
As far as lowering the brand "image", have you seem the parking lot at a V8 race in OZ, full of MB coupes, sedans and MB vans.
