Can a dealer do a change of ownership using his NZTA number into a purchacers name without using the buyers NZ driver's licence number. Customer has an Austrailian licence and wants the vehicle changed into their name before pick up.

I think you can do with a valid passport(original) and change it that way!

I know it can be done by the person themselves but I am asking if the dealer can do it without the person there and without physical posession of the I.D. as can be done with a New Zealand licence.

i would say nop ony nz driver license is automated online transaction.

Have the person take his passport to VTNZ or AA and they will do it.

Curlcrown-In theory thats a big NO. In practice sometimes you can do it with a photocopy of the persons ID
Since the public registrations are closed, you must have an invite from a current member to be able to register and post in this thread.
