only the drivers door has keyhole, have tried prising the door open and managed to hit the power lock button but the batt is too flat to operate the locks

Does the key not unlock the door through the keyhole! It is a mechanical linkage, will still open if battery dead.

key only has ever locked the door only, not sure if this is a fault or made that way

Dive underneath, hook jump battery leads to starter power lead and chassis. Power lead goes up to battery

Climb underneath and attach a lead to where the battery lead reaches the starter, or anywhere else that is usually live. Connect a battery charger for a few hours.
