Well what a interesting morning. On Tuesday i did a wof on a vehicle and passed it. The owner traded the car on on Thursday at a car dealers. Got a phone call yesterday from dealers saying a couple keen on vehicle and took it to another workshop for appraisal, that workshop said car should not of passed wof. I stand behind every wof inspection i do and was floored by what they said. My boss said i 100% behind you Alan and lets go challenge the other workshops word. At car dealer at 9am with all my wof check sheets and trade cert papers etc. Dealer did not know i was coming he was late grr to open. When dealer arrived we both went over the car and neither of us found a fault with it. We got the potential customers and did the same with them again no faults present. Got the other workshop down and challenged him to put his WOF AUTHORITY on the line. Told him lets go to a independant garage and let them do a WOF inspection at myworkshops expense. He declined. And if was any faults we would pay for repairs and i would hand over my WOF authority again he declined. Turns out he just said was faults because he got no worked booked in for next week. Both the car dealer and people who wanted the car was his customers for around 15 years. They both told him they wont be bringing him any more work in the future his name will be for ever tarnished now. We just made 2 new customers. Car dealer just phoned me thanking me for my honesty and said the couple purchased the vehicle.

Tell me about it, get a failed on rack ends, then tells me how much its going to cost to fit when they can do it yadda yadda. so I buy them, go to put them on and find there is nothing wrong with them. so take car to vtnz nothing said about rackends. What the garrage hasn't worked out yet is I preffer to do my own work.

Yup this was a inner rackend and noisey wheel bearings. I even took tools with me incase i had to pull apart and show them the weight test on rack ends
