A problem has shown up with the engine management system and has logged a fault code, thats all. Get it read by a garage or auto electrician and they will recommend what action to take next.Why should it be a sign of things to come! Nothing major should go wrong if the full prepurchase inspection you got from a pro before buying didn't reveal any issues.

you kept driving for 120km AFTERthe warning light came on ---hmmm best you don't admit that to the dealer you bought the car from.

well no was on the way home when it came on and yes did stop and do as manual suggested. Got a pre puchase inspection by Honda guys.was all good so hopefully easy to fix

Ok youve confused me here. First you say -----
The two are contradicting each other. A n engine light comeing on is doing it for a reason. continuing to drive without getting the car fixed is not a great idea unless you know what the fault is and that it wont damage the vehicle further. Sorry if this seems harsh.It really is important to stop when this stuff happens.
