some roofrack fit other cars alos but they can damage the roof if overloadeded. like i got rack for my fiat tipo that also fits toyota surf with different attachment . on some cars you wonthave mutch of a chance to fit roofracks. there is some universal ruber magnetic belt ones but dont know how good they are mate has one and transports his rubber dinghi 2km on the roof with it.

short answer, yes long answer, yes but be aware that although you can fit a rack to it, the vehicle may not be capable of carrying said rack with any weight on it
this is why you were asked what vehicle, there are not many 'universal' mounting systems - they are generally designed for that particular vehicle type and model
many many years ago roof racks were sat on the roof resting on a rubber pad similar to a toilet plunger and had a racket that gripped the gutter rail after many roofs were damaged they then developed a system that sat purely in the gutters, but then vehicles became gutterless some had a rail system built into the roof, and manufacturers quickly started producing racks to fit - but each car had different measurements
the chances of getting something to fit to different cars is possible but not a definite yes they will fit,
what cars! do they have roof rails! , or mount rails what do you want them to carry!, skies!, a suitcase!, a piano!, 4 tradesmans ladders!, the weekend supplies and clothes for a family of 6! etc

and a thought for you to consider - a few weeks back I was heading into wanganui 6.30 am, laying in the middle of the road was a set of roof bars complete with 3 surf boards still attached
