you can buy stainless steel thread inserts from Saeco. they come with the drill & tap to repair your stripped aluminium threads. i use them on my aluminium race engine with great success.

Any engineering shop. Not all mechanics will have a tap set. A tap is what will need to be run up in the old thread to make it workable again. If the arm is alum then you might end up having to run locktite in with the new thread due to it being flogged out and therefore weaker than when first built. Depending on how badly the hole is flogged out - you might have to utilize an insert. What ever way you choose to go - ask how much first.

Given up using U-hoo!

ok thanks the first half or the thread is almost flat but the inside half is fine.

what exactly is it we have tryed to fix one where the pedal is something like a stepper type thing not like bicicle. and its impossibile to fix that the whoe materials used to make the arm was junk just broke out and stripped the expensive machined part again 5 minutes after . So unless its actuarly made from propper materials it be not worth it. We would have had to reingeneer the whole controll arm to fix that and that was to mutch. and that was in a european workshop with cnc machines at our hands.

thats the sort of thing we tryed fixing broke where the pedal atteches in to the rotating parts of the moveing part just like on bikes but the crap is some crap that just cracks once it gives way .

Can you take the pedal off and drill a hole through the arm!

Then put a long bolt through the food pedal and tighten it up with a bolt and washer and the other side of the arm!
