The ol Chev, she handles like a wardrobe, chews the gas, not a rocket, does the quarter in minutes not seconds, it squeaks an rattles, no aircon (disconnected years ago but the display is there so still got cool factor) no mod cons, it clunks when you chuck it in drive, the seats burn your ass in summer after sitting in the sun, its got a small trans leak from the pan, the dipstick pulls the whole mounting boss out at the block,,,,, but heck ,,, id never sell it in a million years all the bad things are the things I love about the ol beast. Tell us all your old rattlers loveable flaws, happy cruisin lads an ladesse's!

LOL, thats a pretty good description of my 88 Surf.

No air con (last owner pulled part of it out & I pulled the rest out)
Rattles & squeaks as it should for it's age
Hot in summer/ cold in winter
Dust seeps in strange places on dusty roads/tracks
Wheels that you almost need a crane to swap over
Various minor oil leaks.
Handles like a concrete block onwheels
Yep . "does the quarter in minutes not seconds"
Easy on the gas (ha ha ha)
No computers etc
Whines & whistles as only that model can
Lovin it.

Airconditioning is pushing the quarterlight window all the way forward and increasing your speed.

I love the way mine chages to the highest gear when you are at about 30kms haha. I just shift it manually most of the time

My old Chevuar/Jagulet is sooo smooooth to drive, really solid feeling, the doors shut with a good "clunk", if you tap the body there's no tinny echo sound. When you go to pull up quickly, you know just how big a tank you're in. The kids can just about play soccer on the back seat. Not to mention the 'fun' factor of a good torquey rear wheel drive. Mine has a wee leak on the passenger if it's been raining too. The curves, shape, character and the fact it will still be going in another 30 odd years. Upgraded the suspension on mine so that it does actually go around corners for a big ole bus. Well, what can I say, I lurv my bewdiful old gal.
