My aircon has stopped working

datoofairy, Dec 1, 6:40pm
The aircon in my 03 Toyota Corolla has stopped blowing cold air.I was working fine, and then one day it would only blow barely cold air.
Abouta week before it stopped working, the bottom of my car scraped over a particularly high judder bar.Could that have caused damage that broke the aircon! Is there maybe a hose or something under there that might have a hole it!
And please could someone tell me a ballpark figure to have the aircon regassed! Obviously I realise I'd need to find if it had a leak first.
Thanks.

not worth to repair aircon usually. unless you got a spear grand . i get it inspected to make sure its not got any more damage to the likes of coolant radiator underbody damage is also a wof fail if the frame is dented out of shape .

Thanks intrade. The scraping happened a few weeks ago and my car passed a WOF last week, so I'm assuming everything other than the aircon is fine.I paid extra to have the wof guy check all the fluid levels and check other stuff so I'm sure he would have mentioned if any coolant was out.
I have no real idea at all if the aircon dying even as anything to do with the judder bar, its just that was the only thing I could think of that had happened to the car since I'd last used the aircon.
I would like to get it fixed, as I really hate driving on the open road (which I do a lot) with windows down, however I dont have a spare grand so I guess I'll just have to get used to it.
Thanks :o)

probably a small leak why it was not cooling propper . but by the time they found the problem and fixed it. and it could beyou spend 700$ and 2 week later the aircon stoped again because they dont actuarly have fixed the problem where it leaked. there is also the dryer that neess replacing so a grand would be what you would need to get it sorted and only taken to professionals who fix it and service the aircon right not just regas is for 180$ as that wont fix the leak you seem to have.

Depending on where you are,Before my car died just recently we enquired about regassing the air co from memory it was around the $100 mark.

Had a problem with a VL Calais a few years ago. Nothing would go.
Problem, a tyre pressure gauge had somehow escaped from the glovebox and found its way into the fan/blower. Wrecked the thing.
Perhaps!
Sorry, read the OP again. Doesn't sound relevant.
