Band expanders

Just installed a band expander on a Jap import, when you go to touch a button on the head unit it gets alot of feedback - is there a way the aerial behin with the expander should be placed to avoid this or can one of those things on TV's etc work!

Not sure
But 123 456 could do with one plugged into his noodle to expand his brain a little, Because its very narrow

Band expanders are generally a waste of time, even the more expensive ones. You'll still have problems in areas like downtown Auckland (near the Sky Tower) due to the huge amount of RF (which swamps them) so they can't function properly and you'll get 20 stations all coming in at once on the same frequency.
Better off to ditch the Japper radio and buy a decent NZ spec one which can receive 87.5 - 108 MHz.

mine works reasonably well. Dont know what the dealer fitted but it is a 10khz expander. But in Tauranga all along Elizabeth street I get 2 stations at once.On my Ractis, I cant put a NZ radio as this one is not square and sort of built in the dash.

Gilco--watch this space (trade me) don't be suprised if a fit kit for your ractis isn't on the market soon
