Thank-you AA!

I took my car for a WOF today, another garage failed it on a sticker being too high and a bulge in one tire.

I had the tire tested by a tire shop after the first WOF and was told there was nothing wrong with it. AA today again said there was nothing wrong with the tire and the sticker was no issue.

They also gave me some free wiper blades after paying next to nothing ($35.00) for a WOF. well I guess they were bagging on a return customer because I definitely will be.

A little annoyed at the other place though, I have to wonder. the same place last time failed me for a nick of rubber off the steering wheel.

Was most impressed as to how nice ALL of their staff were as well. Great customer service.

You obviously didnt go to the Tauranga Branch then!

mrsscubasteve, Dec 10, 8:05pm
Nope definitely not, I took it to the one here in Rotorua. One next to BP, their staff were lovely.

I went to AA tauranga only once to complete paper work for a drivers licence and they were horrible, couldn't even answer questions about their own products and services.

We use the Ro AA for wofs as well.Never had a problem, if its a fail it is because it should be.Well done.

WOF fail because a sticker too high! What's that about!

rpvr, Dec 11, 5:46am
It it was me I would be back at the original place asking why I was failed unnecessarily and asking for my money back.

cool down man, turn yer heater on and don't go blow'n a head gasket. lol

mrsscubasteve, Dec 11, 7:38am
It had passed previously the last 4 times with the sticker and the new testing officer they have suddenly said no, same one who DEMANDED I get either a new steering wheel or cover for the nick out of the rubber.

A sticker can be too high as there are certain measurements but it is well under requirements.

I told him the tire shop had no problems with it and could ring the manager there if he wished but he wouldn't budge so no longer returning there. I've made a written complaint about the garage and submitted evidence from the tire shop as well as evidence about the sticker.

Considering AA was virtually empty at the time I went they had plenty if time to go over it and still found nothing wrong. And a free pair of wiper blades. I heard the same officer educating a lady about her car and seemed like he genuinely cared about customers as opposed to ringing up money etc.

Thats when I would have been asking questions and going elsewhere.

mrsscubasteve, Dec 11, 3:23pm
I was a little awkward on this one as I wasn't sure, he called it a "fault with the steering mechanism" . I did laugh as its a freaking nick of rubber off the steering wheel. but again, I wasn't too sure about it as wasn't familiar with that one.

loonee-dial-111, Dec 11, 3:33pm
And in Germany the correct spelling is Reifen!

In all fairness it might tickle your finger whilst you drive, then you may become dangerous and drift around a corner, flip on to the median and kill a penguin.

It happens
