I used Dynamat Extreme through the doors of my car, seems to be good.
It has the best reputation and when you need to start pulling panels off your car you might as well do it one do it right. Self adhesive too so easy to install

What part of the vehicle are you going to use it on!

I reckon bitumen based is the best as it's nice and heavy.

If you want it to look nice ( as in boot floors etc ) then the self adhesive type is best. I think the technical name for it is malthoid. You can press it into shape where you want it to go buy lightly heating it with a heat gun, and then trim it with a knife.

Most modern sound deadening seems very dense and therefore heavy, so I wonder how effective the older felt is!I suppose it also has a lot to do with what noise you are trying to eliminate and why.
For mine, without the headlining or any carpets in, there is almost an echo from any noise from within!I have soundproofed the doors successfully by attaching pads of foam carpet underlay with a dab of bitumen.I have no idea how durable it will be and I intend trying the same method on the roof before attaching a suspended headlining.Could work, could be a total disaster - but it is dirt cheap!

Be very careful with foam type products in doors, it can be a sure recipe for rust, even if the doors are galvanised.
