klitemnestra123, Dec 25, 10:18pm
has anyone used this! We have blown head gasket, Nissan.

howz_that, Dec 25, 11:48pm
Haven't used this product before but the only fix for a blown headgasket is to replace it

llortmt, Dec 25, 11:51pm
Must be good stuff.
It says on the bottle 'fixes blown head gaskets'
So if you can prove that you had a blown head gasket at time of purchase and that it doesn't/didn'tfix ityou are by law entitled to a full refund! LOL
Why don't people understand there's no such thing as mechanic in a bottle.

Because they don't want to accept that they have a problem and want it fixed for very little cost. "Budget motoring" it is called, but you and I both know that there are no free lunches!

intrade, Dec 26, 4:47am
thats because it would have been a cracked head on that, and the stuff filled the crack

We do understand that it has to be replaced and we only need some time to save money for it. So that is temporary, but your unkindness I think will never be replaced with something better. Maybe some people have hard time with money, so if you don`t have anything nice or helpful to say, just don`t talk (write) and learn some kindness.

intrade, Dec 26, 5:25am
if you put that stuff in then you will have to throw the car away its just to be used on cars that go in the crusher a few months down the track.
Your heater coreradiator will also be blocked up by stuff like this. So you make more expensive jobs So you just have to be prepaired to bring it to the dump sooner , could be a few years before if your lucky but the day will come when the stuff you pour in is costing you loads in extra repairs

klitemnestra123, Dec 26, 5:31am
ok, thank you for that, won`t risk it then

carmad50, Dec 26, 10:28am
better product out called seal up green bottle about 9 buks , use 2 bottlesits emulisfied glasswith chemical absorbs to oxagen leaks in engine and seals them wont last for ever , but enough get to work few days before you have to pull the head and do the gasket and head crack test etcaprox a grand at most jappers

austingtir, Dec 26, 11:39am
Theres no point in sugar coating this stuff and leading obvious imbeciles down the garden path.Anybody that puts that stuff in an engine they expect to last for more than a year is a lost cause though thats about all i'll agree with you on.

00quattro00, Dec 26, 1:17pm
I used a crc product in an old camry, 3sfe engine, still going 6 years later

ljs, Dec 26, 8:53pm
I have used rislone very sucessfully in the past but it is only ever a temporary fix. I had a cracked head in a surf and didnt have the time to replace it in the summer it had to last and wait 6 months before I had the time .But whatever you do or use get the radiator professionally cleaned when doing the repair.

Back in the 60's parents had a Sunbveam Talbot 90 which used to overheat just about every time it was driven out of town.It had more head gaskets than fuel it seemed.

Anyway it did it big time in Napier and was repaired by Townshend Motors who put Chemiweld in.On return trip to Rotorua it drank water until it reached the Esk Valley and then water use stopped.

For the next ten years or so it still overheated but the chemiweld obviously held as it never had another head gasket.

Long way of saying I'd give the "mechanic in a bottle" products a try.Worst that will happen is it won't work.

ml6989, Dec 27, 7:40am
So so sorry, I didn't understandyou only need "kindness" as opposed to an "opinion". My keyboard will not do this to you again!

klitemnestra123, Dec 28, 9:41am
If that is the way you express your opinion I can bet you have very little friends. Or you are "clever" only behind the keyboard.

I'd give it a go, the products that have the coppery sludge and the fluid siiting on top seem top be the best, you shake em up before use. Yes they aren't the greatest for your cooling system but I'll tell you something, $20 to give something a try is a whole lot cheaper that having to fork out money to fix a head or gasket, or replacing the motor, it also buys you some time (assuming it works) to consider your options, you might just want to replace the car. I had a 96 3.0L v6 camry, they are very prone to heads/gaskets failure. One gasket/head had failed, was blowing steam out the back and overheating. I'd paid $200 for it and wasn't prepared to invest any time or money so I stuck a bottle in it. 6 months later I sold it, after racking up 15,000km trouble free. told the new owner what had been done with it. 3 years later I happened to park next to them downtown, they remembered me and said they hadn't had any troubles with it in all that time.

yup works a treat

used the rislone radiator stop leak (brown mud stuff) that got me home after cracking a radiator, 4 months later still no leak.

the rislone headgasket repair is meant to be very very effective but at around $80-$90 you still have to think about it.

if its blown bad enough that its bursting radiator hoses or draining the water in 5 mins it needs a proper fix

if its using a little water each week or getting oil contamination why not. risk $20.

oh and whatever you use wont fix a completly neglected cooling system

prevention is cheaper than any cure

You have asked for advice and were offered iot-perhaps too bluntly but none the less true advice.
In your situation I'd look to how much to do the job propperly and borrow the money.
Normally I advocate saving up as you are thinking but what you propose is basicly playing russian roulletteI'm guessing that you need this car to be reliable or you wouldn't need to save to fix it.Not having a go at you re your finances just going by what you said.
-as a famous fulla once said."do ya feel lucky punk! well dooya!"

austingtir, Dec 29, 3:55am
"Takes note of all the people that are using this stuff in their radiators incase i come across them in future purchases"

i have an old komatsu excavator with a sick head it wouldnt get through the day without a drink of water so we used that liquid copper in it a couple of years ago as the engine is to sick to fix. The thing hasnt missed a beat ever since, now if only i could find a product to stop it drinking oil
