I replaced the same in my toyota with a similar unit. Worked well, only issue was the colours of the wireing from the old unit didn't match anything on the new. Lots of removing door panels to see the colour coding on speakers.

Thanks for that, I may have to do the same to find wiring colours, nothing at all I can find on the net about this car.

yep stereo will fit or you could buy standard stereo and pocket to replace old one, you can buy wiring loom to suit from repco, super cheap or eds audiosupplies otherwise use ohms meter to find speaker wiring, then a 1.5volt battery accross each speaker to locate which one is which no need to remove door panels

The challenge I had with that is my unit was a cd/tape gps tv unit and the regular plugs that you can by from repco etc didn't come near the various connections that came out of the back of it.

That will work BUT how you going to make sure the polarity of each speaker is correct as if you get it wrong sound will be horrible!

Ok 1) yes this unit will fit 2)SPECIFICLY in regards to sterio wiring a 2004 nissan is a 2004 nissan. 3) I wouldn't muck around.-Most likely you will be able to buy an adaptor plug for your car to a sterio you are concidering. 4) I agree with 4 piggy-the less expensive option is a single din sterio and a nissan storage pocket underneath
