Worth good coin even with the engine transplant. XWs are getting rare now but realisticly its worth what gets bid there is no fixed value in old cars

Hard to say as you have not mentioned what you paid but maybe reserve $10K or more! Can always drop if not moving. Looks pretty tidy in photo & there will be a buyer out there prepared to pay the right price.

you answer your own question with your name, but then with the right market it will go off, but your timing has to be right, i don't know what area you are from but we have kumeu and pukekohe coming up, good places to get a good price for decent cars

Don't accept any less than $11,000.00 for it.

If its a registered/wof'd driver then I think itll be 10k

If its as good as it looks in the pix ask for $12500.00. Put it on as a classified and ask for any serious offers as well, be prepared to sit for a while, it looks cool so dont give it away.

I would list it for $20k ono to start with (if all original) and see how you go. I don't think the others realise that it's a Fairmont not a Falcon which is very rare in station wagon form. You can always go down in price if it doesn't sell in the first few weeks. If I'm wrong and it's a Falcon not a Fairmont it would be worth around $10k + or - depending on condition. When I mentioned "if all original" interior is properly must important as engines can be easily found and changed. Looks good from photo though.
If you have no luck I'll swap you for my Toyota Stalet ;-)

Just spotted the sunroof. That might put a few people off.

Sunroofs are cool and reflect the era and methinks that says Falcon on the bonnet !

Yes, but hard to take out and fix a roof, they did come out with sunroofs but not like that one. They were a metal wind back type. I think you're right about the bonnet. I thought it said Ford at first (that's why I thought it was a Fairmont) but now starting to think it's a Falcon that somebody's added extra badges too (which is a shame). Hard to really see what's going on with it in that photo. Good original ones are worth good money but when not original it makes a BIG difference in value for a collector. Maybe $7000 - $10,000 would be closer! But really need to see more and better photos.

All so true but some people and collectors are stuck in the seventies and can appreciate the bling era and all the add on bits that were available to make yur car different from the next one, love the hustlers as well, real seventies gear. PS; Theres a bit of a rennaissance on old station wagons at the moment.

Yep, I know what you're saying. Everyone thought I was mad to put the sun visor back on my XW S/W. But now it's on, they all love it.

Reason i wouldn't go under ten on the coon- is simple. You have some very nice sought after vehicles and you didn't find such examples easily. Should your situation change and you went looking for the same vehicles again-then add 1 to 3 K on to what ever you sell them for -and the coon-mmmmm-reality is i'd say you could well be looking at14 to 17K to replace that.

Yip you would swap-and that was when ya thought it had fairmont sill trim- L O L. [They ain't makin em any more-so yip-they go UP in price aye] 5 getz ya ten IF you DID own it-you wouldn't sell it

it is very tidy, very good body, could do with some carpets in the front but not too bad. some old guy owned it for years and every thing is pretty good. still deciding if it should go, maybe advertise this aswell and whichever goes first i keep the other. my dad is a panel beather/painter and i did have plans to change it but the grandad look grew on me :-) but now i need space more than toys. thanks for your input
