this has the honda engine, and i presume the honda g/b, what about the rest of the car, susp/ brakes etc!

mugenb20b, Dec 28, 9:11am
Yep, it's just a Honda Accord that's been beaten with an ugly stick.

mugenb20b, Dec 28, 9:13am
If you are looking at buying a Rover, have a look at a 75, it's a very nice car. Not sure about its reliability though.

JUNK.

mugenb20b, Dec 28, 9:59am
Hey Rob, I'm all good thanks, just did a h/g on a GA15 Pulsar of mine, what a prick of a job.

But, anyway, if it's a SOHC engine, they are not bad to do, just be aware the engine runs counter clockwise. You should be able to rip the head off in a couple of hours and you can release the cambelt tensioner without removing the lower timing cover.

As for bellky, he's a good guy and means well, but most people can't tell that he's just a serial piss taker.

Yep ^^^^ junk, the car is probably average too

mugenb20b, Dec 28, 10:04am
As long as you have a concrete driveway, it will be OK. I'm still trying to get to do my lawns and house painting, and it looks as if the weather will get worse.

the-lada-dude, Dec 28, 10:30am
Nada, she's a dohc, pretty sure it's the honda 2.3 accord engine, and yeah, i figured it would run arse about face

mugenb20b, Dec 28, 10:34am
Oh, a twin cam! Might be the old 2.0 litre.nice.

No doubt bellky will say something stupid again soon.

bellky, Dec 28, 10:38am
I've seen a picture of you Adrian I hope you know.

mugenb20b, Dec 28, 10:38am
If Honda only fitted a left hand thread bolt in the crank pulley, but no.

If you somehow manage to remove the crank pulley bolt (should you choose to do so), it needs to be very fn tight when you put it back on (250Nm I think!) otherwise, it will just unwind itself.

something stupid again soon.

:)

One other thing I forgot to mention, I think that once you set up you cam timing (TDC, firing on 1), you may be able to lock the cams by the inserting two 8mm drill bits through the top of the front cam bearings (when it comes to replacing / refitting the cambelt).

I think that 2.3 might have some issues that aren't so common on a usual DOHC Honda 2.2 - might pay to Google what they are

the-lada-dude, Dec 28, 12:09pm
I've never completely trusted timing marks of any description, just about all cams have split timing on the overlap, this means I set the cam / s to equal amount of lift at o/l and then check timing marks provided. sometimes it pays to even check TDC with a drinking straw down the ol' plug 'ole, then I vvvvvery carefully turn the engine over by hand ( no plugs ) to feel for any valve contact, don't think everyone does it this way, but there's no points for a cock up.

the-lada-dude, Dec 28, 12:13pm
yep ok

mugenb20b, Dec 28, 12:49pm
Thanks for that. I didn't know that the DOHC was used in 623s.

vtecintegra, Dec 28, 6:23pm
The numbering gets a bit confusing - it isn't a VTEC like the H22a or the later H23a from the CL Accord wagon
