i have a standard mk1 1300 sport with the standard 1300 gt engine whichs sits high at the front as most escorts do, i was thinking about lowering it maybe 2" at the front, I have found a 'lowered spring' supplier who as asked what diameter my springs are, 4 3/4" O.D or 5 1/4" O.D and also what poundage do i need!. to be honest i do not know this, is there a standered set, anyone done this before + would i need to alter the struts thanks for any help

How old are the rear leaf springs, do they need resetting or replacing !
What are the existing shock absorbers like, no leaks etc !
Rally Mk1 escorts are usually high in the back in a gravel spec.

Try Burton power in the UK. They are experts, just get the bits shipped over

Hi Thanks for that, this seller has 2" lowering springs which are 175LB with 120MM O.D FIT,
is 175LB a common lowering spring for a factory standard mk1!

the rear leaf springs look like factory original and the shocks don't leak as far as i am aware, this is a factory standard MK1 1300 sport in very original con so not for race/rally

The best answer by far considering Chris races and rallys escorts.
