the holiday period. I'm over 'tourists' to our town thinking they can ignore the road rules (no right turn - turn right anyway), people being rude enough to pinch carparks when it's obvious you're waiting to go in there (has happened three times in one day), people driving 25km.hr down the lake front, people not indicating, and the worst! People who drive automatics with their blimmin LEFT foot on the brake pedal!

Normal Napier tourist traffic just watch them and laugh we do.

I'm also over tourists in our town thinking that their holiday houses are party central every long weekend. I need someone to bump into their house with a Ford Pinto and burn, baby burn.

I wonder how long your tourist town would last without tourists, before it became a town with no work, and the broke, unemployed residents had to move to Auckland, where this par for the course.
splinter67,

It s already that and we still have to put up with blimmin tourists

Could apply to Rotorua too!Visit in winter (as we do for sport) and check out the cars in the rugby car park. Totally the opposite of Gisborne netball car park - 100% with up to date regos there (you notice these things as you walk about outside, grabbing a bit of winter sunshine, killing time between your own indoor matches.).

I always like this time of year here traffic wise - there is about 1/3 of the normal amount. Great for cycling.

How do you know, that they have their left foot on the brake pedal !, do you actually get in their cars !, or are you just guessing .and being a little grumpy !
trouty63,
Jan 17, 5:35am
LOL Bashfulbro - probably a little grumpy, yes. No, I don't get in their cars, but when the brake light is on and they're accelerating. well. I guess I've jumped to conclusions :)

I enjoy it. Bit of variety. Living in a tourist town is a hell of a lot more interesting than not.
