Yesterday we made 2 trips (return journey) thru the Waiwera tunnel. Assuming our number plate was recorded by the camera, I went on line to pay the fee. No can do. Does anyone know what the payment procedure is! Many thanks.
Sorry for my brevity. When I went online to pay, the 'dialogue box' where you typed in your number plate had another box which asked for an authorization number ( or some such ). Do they send you a 'bill' thru the post with this number! In view of the fact the toll must be paid within 5 days they / we could be cutting things a bit fine. Or have I got it all wrong! Cheers.

www.tollroad.govt.nz >Pay for single, return or multiple trips >Pay here >Enter your registration number >Enter your vehicle type if requested Check trip numbers and dates >Next etc. It will accept Debit or Credit cards Sometimes it takes a day or so to register the trips so if there's nothing or just 1 trip there, leave it and try next day.
Perhaps you tried using the pay a toll notice form which is when you havn't paid and they send you a (larger) bill in the post.

I would say very likely the correct reason.

That may mean that your number is associated with an account that you have to authorize payment from or there's some sort of outstanding payment to be made! Ring the 0800 number and ask but don't pay over the phone or they'll charge you a premium.

The most primitive system of tolling in the world. Why on earth do we let our plonker government get away with inflicting this sheer nonsense on us and on visitors toour country ! Tourists and overseas visitors just cannot believe how primitive the collecting system is. They think we're country yokels when seeing this nonsense.

Yep, It is appallingly bad. So many good systems in use worldwide and we choose one that is hard to use, costs to collect is too high and where you can owe hundreds and its too hard to prosecute.

Huh! I find it a really easy system to work. Honestly don't know what the grumbles are about. After the trip just log on and pay. I haven't paid in advance yet but I understand that you can. You can even txt payment from your mobile. What is hard about that!

Thats very very sad. My condolences to you.

For two bucks! Thats a litre of petrol. If you have a 2 litre 4 cylinder motor that will take you about 10 kms. You probably wasted more than two bucks by stopping, putting on the tin foil, taking off then stopping later and taking it off. hahahahaha

#21- I doubt that's the point. What is of importance is the great satisfaction in having shoved one right up the plump backside of our brainless, plonker, authorities. That, is priceless.

So why not pizz them right off and go the long way and send them photos of this rebelious act unfolding.
hawat,

hee hee it gets funnier and funnier. Do you mean the same brainless plonker authorities that planned it, funded it then built it! Surely the way to show displeasure is not to use it. If no one used it THEN the brainless plonkers would be worried.

Sad isn't it.Costs more to collect than the toll is worth, rather like the new monthly water bills. So much for NZ's efficiency and productivity.
