not sure how.quad cam multivalve engine and they cant get the airflow required that a pushrod v8 can!

splinter67, Jan 19, 10:23am
And who didnt see this comingslow race car to slow datsun

3tomany, Jan 19, 10:56am
just swaped slow holdens for slow nissans lol

splinter67, Jan 19, 11:01am
yup they must have had ford mechanics lol

3tomany, Jan 19, 11:04am
yea probably there must be a lot of them made redundant lately [not lol]

chebry, Jan 20, 11:08am
The last time a datsun went fast it had millions spent by the factory on a specialized race car programn and we saw Godzilla. This looks more like some clowns trying to get a 120y to go fast, great idea but no fecking clues on how

nave12, Jan 20, 3:28pm
Now they are trying to get the revs raised!,come on guys you've had four months already and can't get the gains out of this engine---Pathetic---.

austingtir, Jan 20, 4:17pm
Im not suprised how long have they been developing the ford and holden v8's now!

And also considering its basically a titan 5.6 v8 thats been modified. Those engines are nothing special in stock form.

Mercedes and Nissan will be more of a force next year i suspect provided the other teams dont complain to much that is.

austingtir, Jan 20, 4:18pm
Also the new corvette engine is still using pushrod tech so it cant be that bad.

splinter67, Jan 20, 4:21pm
The mercs might be but until a descent race team gets a nissan they will be running from the back

austingtir, Jan 20, 4:24pm
I agree to a point kelly racing to me looks to lack a bit of nouce when it comes to building the cars especially from scratch like they are having to atm.Can only wait and see though. The biggest mistake they made is the branding of the car i mean an Altima what a joke should of just made it an infinity m50 or something.

The mercs are way cooler with the c63 amg branding.

It's not hard to see how engines with 15-20 years of development in the category (ford/holden) would have an advantage over brand new engines playing to the same rule book.

I imagine that it's not a matter of airflow, but a matter of getting the engine to breathe properly with such a low rev limit. I'm sure they'll get there, it's just going to take them some time to get a port shape/cam/valve combo that delivers torque at the right RPM to make it competitive within the rules.

splinter67, Jan 20, 4:41pm
Yup but they still are not going to beat the holdens 888 1st and 2nd in the championship again this year

Everyday the level of intelligence on here just amazes me. I'm in awe of it.
Now we have some by the nature of there comments that know how to develope and run a V8 supercar motor and the team by the sound of it as well.
I guess these ones are having a Christmas break off from working with there F1 cars WRC cars and NHRA drag racing teams.I guess lowely V8 SC teams will contact them soon to ask what there doing wrong.
Respect to you all.
