Ok this one is a doozy. Bought a yazoom deal in Aug (and had work done in Aug) got an oil, filter & WOF.They told me to leave the car with them for an hour, and they will get it sorted, i come back they say its all done & they didnt give me a WOF cos i got it a month ago ( i thought ok! butdidnt argue) On friday, I take it to my usual mechanic (family friend) and I ask him to do my oil he tells me that when he did the oil, the oil was so black, he doubts that whoever did it last didnt do a thing.Im still about 800 kms away from when they recommend I change it. My mechanic also tellme me that they have stolen my air flow sensor (why my car was weak) and to replace would cost $200+ (for just the part) I ring the company they tell me they are new owners since Sept, and give me the number for the old owner. when I call and tell him he tells me I can proove nothing, offers to do my oil, i tell him no, all i want is to refund the money that i paid to get the oil done in the first place, he says no, and tell him i want him to replace the part they stole, he says I cant prove it, even though they are the only mehanics i have taken it to other than my good mate.I talk to MTA they said he is no longer owner so they cant do anything and advised me to take it to the citizens advice beaurau.is there anything that I can do!

If he stole your air flow sensor, there wouldbe a big red light on your dashboard saying check engine if your car even ran at all. And why would he steal it in the first place!

Exactly! I would ask for a second opinion as car would be running pretty rough if at all. oil can get black no matter how long its been. All depends on how old your engine is kms etc.

it was running pretty rough, it would take about 2 mins to get up to 100 kmh on the motorway.reason why it took me so long to do anything about it cos I couldnt afford work to the car.I hasd the "oil pressure" light comming on. ever since they had changed the oil.

they were ment to as per the deal by yazoom - I forgot to ask my mechanic, but I dount they did.

Take it as a lesson that you get what you pay for. Ya zoom "mechanic" may have not done what you paid for but you have no proof and didn't take you car back even though it developed all these faults. Find a good mechanic that you trust and stick with them from now on.

Am I crazy or is this as whacked as the driveway one.,. If you took your car to yazoom mechanic and when you get it back its running very rough, why on earth would you not take the car back to him! Instead, 5 months of driving it later, you try and chase yazoom mechanic up about it.

You'd be amazed, some think that warning lamps are there for entertainment, should be obscured with notebooks, pens, lipstick canisters, phones or anything else that sits nicely in front of the instruments, and those lights that do get noticed shall be investigated at the next service, not right now.
