Can anybody suggest where to get a valuation done on a bus we have found and really like! The people are asking 140k for it but we think its way over priced, it ticks all our boxes and would like to purchase it at a fair price. We have looked on here and its swings and round abouts with whats on the market thats compariable.TIA. P.S were in Invercargill

Been watching motorhome prices for some time, there are many buses that have been for sale for over 2 years. The market at present for them is very depressed. Often see vehicles originally advertised for; e.g. $80,000 eventually selling for $55,000. My suggestion make an offer, you may be surprised at what they may accept especially if the vehicle has been advertised for a while. IMO a valuation is meaningless on a vehicle.

Mmmm we have been looking for a long while but this one had popped up out of the blue, hasnt been advertised as the people are now moving to a retirement home.realistically we think the bus is somewhere in the 80k range but they are wanting 140k, hence the valuation query.

You may still have to make the offer, and then politely wait. They have to go through the realities of the current market. Your estimate matches pretty much what I see happening here. If you have a motorhome reseller in your area you could ask them aboutdoing a valuation, but if the seller is new to the market they are unlikely to believe in a drop of $60,000 as being correct.

yeah we get your point and totally agree on how they will possibly look at it hence the valuation, thanks so much for your thoughts

I think the NZMCA offer a valuation service, give them a call on Tuesday.
