If you were going to try one of these mechanic in a bottle products which would you prefer!

'Permanent head gasket fix' from super cheap auto.
It costs $89 but has a high success rate and unlike many others, is compatible with coolant so you don't have to drain the system. Simply add it to your radiator, idle for 20 mins and your done.
I have never used it, but know someone who has used it 3 times and it has worked 3 times.

$89 sounds expensive but the other option is probably closer to $1K I'm guessing. That was the one I was thinking of trying.

Just consider one thing, any of theses products are only a "Band Aid" not a cure. Some also have other adverse affects

Only needs to bea "band Aid".Brother used some Chemiweld in his (well cooked) Daewoo and got two more years out of it.He reckons $20 well spent.

Have had great success with sealwell blocks.Dont need to drain system with them either and leave no tell tale marks like chemiweld and the likes. These "band aid" repairs on many cars will outlast a properly done repair given that the problem you are attempting to repair is quite often a common one. I have known chemiweld to outlast replacement cylinder heads on early model Mitsubishi products!
With any of the products i have tried it seems a good idea to both have the heater on and remove the thermostat to allow good circulation .
