I have a knocking sound in the right bank. Is this common for this car! still has low ks 45000. Whats it likely to be!

Not really. Have had the odd one in high K's, been thrashed or modified that might drop a valve to something. Is there any difference in performance! What kind of knock is it!

Cam phasers, common problem, poor design. I have one ,running it as a cab, 200000k,s. Nothing to do other than replace them or import a phaser lockout kit. Mine has been knocking for about 150000,but still runs clean. Lots of info on the F150 forums.

We've had a Cam Phaser go before on a F150, it didn't knock, but it had a noticeable loss of power. We just welded it solid, no need to go buy an expensive kit.

#5 Its running normal with no performance drop. The knock sounds like a lazy lifter but seems faster than ive heard before

#6,7 whats a phaser!

#4 Already got the Mopar 8 but that girl can drink twice as much in one sitting than the coon :). The coons the every day-er

In a nutshell it is your variable cam timing. (The Phaser that is)

Have I this to look forward too!

We haven't had any problems with the 5.4 in the Falcons. There are quite known and documented cases with the F150 in the States though, and we have had one F150 here with the problem.

Ford NZ doesn't stock the part so its certainly not a common thing.
