Is that standard. Local garage in new hands and I went to him for aclutch job and wof check. The clutch price was within expectations, but I though the check was steep. What is typical!

Absurd. quite a few little garages around here I see with $35 WOF signs. Even VTNZ ripoffs are still only something like $50 aren't they!
Vote with your feet. hopefully the garage will be in even newer hands shortly.

Talk to them. It could just be an honest mistake. Otherwise ask politely , "Why so much!"

I took $350 off a guy once for a wof check. I hit the zero on the eftpos machine once too often. Niether of us noticed untill the chap tried to pay for his fish and chips later that evening and his card declined. I refunded the whole $350 because of the inconvenience i caused him, but the moral of the story is, mistakes too happen. Query them on it.

Paid that much for a glass of juice once, they were not as generous after I drove 40km return to get a refund. The other time it happened I paid $3500 for a Pizza and a few drinks. Not sure what is so special about 3 and 5!

my daughter was charged $800 for an 80 cent stamp by post office. took 5 days to sort it out. ended up $750 od. I asked how they could charge 800 dollars when she didn't even have an overdraft. seems eftpos was down and they put them thru by hand.

Way to much for a WOF, I get a WOF and Service for $120 - I got charged $11500 on a $115 Taxi fare in Sydney last year, the old Taxi driver missed a decimal point or pushed extra 0's, It wasn't till i got home and realised this mistake, had to chase the Taxi co for a couple of days getting it sorted.

Just the softening up process for when the changes come in next year.

This is when VTNZ sheds a heap of staff!
