from key and inside!barrel dosent work, and when i pull cable that dosent work either, may have to replace cable and catch

Is the AVI also meant to check for corrosion around the hinges & frame etc!
I guess it needs to open for that if so.
My WoF guy has always checked the latch operation.

& that's why it needs to open & latch securely not to mention inspection of seat belt mountings if visible and possibly the security of the spare wheel.

Yes it needs to work, can't check the spare wheel and areas around the rear for damage or rust without opening it. So if they "don't notice" it's cause they're doing a crap job of inspecting

llortmt, and you an inspector! If so, please explain why a spare tyre in an enclosed boot needs to be secure!
