I have a 2001 grand vitara 2l 4cylinder. has 270k on the dial, will removing the cat convertor have any beneficial effects to fuel economy!

You are unlikely to notice any difference, but you can get $50 or so for an old cat.which you can put towards your fuel bill.

if it has pre and post fuel air ratio/ oxygen sensors you will cause the check engine light to come on.

Ill check the sensors in the morning, I just thought it could be blocked and tired given the mileage on the vehicle, so thought about removing it
