a mate suggests clipping a second alt on the lux, use the aircon mounts and belt etc, diesel ute so wants to retain the existing vac pump but is finding that the current alt often leaves him with a flat battery after a nights shooting ( 4X 100w spots plus normal running and lights) this is an older ute alt was probably rated at 35A when new his thoughts were to clip a 75A or 90A (cos he's got a couple sitting in the shed) wire run would be to a small 12v bike battery under hood then to taps at the back of the cab ( where he'll jump in a larger battery when shooting and run the spots off that) the two systems would be isolated, the alts have inbuilt regs with the bike battery it will work!, does he even need the bike battery! alts aren't known for self excitement but your comments would be appreciated, feasible! physical! would you do it different!
its a bush basher so fineness and cosmetics are not an issue

Yep just fit a late model alt in there nippon denso 110 amp connect it straight up to second batt earth batt to chassis job done quite a simple up grade

many thanks I bet he'll bail on the actual fitting though and turn up here with a spare alt ( hopefully sitting on a doz)
