Wiring a timer circut?

I have a little project on the go and I need a small light to run for so long and then switch off, I have purchased a timer circut for the job which runs on a 12v system, I have been trying to test on a car battery but cant seem to get itto work, the LEDs on the timer work but I cant find an output! can anyone help here, I have 5 connections GRND and VCC (power in) I have sorted but the other three are CB, COM and CK , what goes where!

Maybe you have to set the timer running before there is any output.

Set the timer for say 30 secs, then test each wire with a small bulb or meter through to the other side of the power supply.

tried but no luck

does the circuit include a reay that is operated for the timed period !
If a relay then COM, CB & CK may be the contacts.when the relay is operated COM & say CB are connected and when the relay is released (unoperated) COM & CK are connected.so no output / voltage will be measurable on these terminal. what you get out of CK or CB will depend what you connect COM to !

Sounds to me that it is a changeover relay, with COM being the common and CK being the normally closed contacts. When the relay operates then the contacts change to the COM ( common) and CB (circuit break!). Could easily be the opposite.

Sorted thanks all, power ran through the VCC and directly to bulb, negative to ground terminal then in series through the CB and Comm terminals to the other side of the bulb, works a treat.
