I'm looking from feedback from Mini enthusiasts, please don't pass your opinion unless you believe you are suitably qualified to cast judgement on this car only, not interested in feedback on any alternative to this car, thanks.
How many kilometres is too many when looking at a secondhand example!
Are there any model years to avoid!

I have serviced two (s's) for several years as yet neither have had and significant problems. However both have had (one still has) rather annoying dash rattles, one had electric window problems but turned out to be trivial. They are very heavy on their standard run -flat tyres even with correct alignment and pressure monitoring. one customer is now running Wanli run flats which were the cheapest we could find! I had serious misgivings about fitting these as the vehicle spins the front wheels VERY easy with 'quality' tyres let alone a harder budget compound. However I was wrong, they grip very well, are wearing fantastically and were at least half the price but the down side is a LOT of added road noise. It's not a car I 'dpersonally choose but it not a car I'd ridicule others for choosing. I will be interested to see how they age.

Mine is 2002, so a year earlier.Still running on the original battery.Fuel consumption to date is 7L/100kms, but to be honest, I still treat it like a new car and don't use the very impressive performance very often.
We had a steering rack issue and I elected to have a power steering specialist sort it rather than the dealer.
Later, I hit something on the motorway at night and wrecked a run flat tyre. (Got me home OK with no problem at all - in fact, it was only when I went back to the car later did I see the damage! Wheel alignment was still spot on.)Original fitment run flat tyres are no longer available and mine are now directional, so I have one spare for the rear!
Other than that, no problems at all.Mine is run as my company car and is written down to les than $4000, but it must be one of the few cars on the market that holds its value better than the allowed depreciation, but it is still fairly low mileage.
