A old lady i know hit a car and backed intoitwhile the other car was backing out as well. She saw a scatch on the other car. swap details and left. Now she got a bill for $400. and they asking her to pay. $300 for labor and rest is materials and GST. If she pays cash then not Gst as it wont be on the books. I think she might be getting rippe do but dont know alot about panelbeaters and pricing. TIA

she will be paying gst on cash. panel beaters genrally start at 250 a panel, also paint colour

If two cars are reversing and collide blame is usually attributed equally. In which case you fix your own!

No pay.She had the right to get her own quotes for the work.They went ahead and had the repair completed (perhaps) and now asking for money.Without her getting the damage inspected/quoted she has no idea what she is being asked to pay for.Tell them to get stuffed.
Is the "little ole lady" insured!If so let the insurance deal with it thats why she pays premiums.

$300 labour and $100 materials sounds about right for whatI assume would be a bumper respray. Thats only 4 or 5 hours labour. May sound alot but if you do it correctly it takes time.But as said two people backed into each other so how come she got to pay!
