Most of the old hitches are so badly worn that they will fit the bigger size anyway

Those old ball's are only really an issue now because of age rusting them.
Seen plenty of tow bars bent & or falling off for various reasons, but yet to see a tow ball snap. Seen a couple rot the nut through Seen a few rot the thread (seen once removed) BUT Never seen a good old style ball snap Seen a few hitches worn down & even a few balls worn oval. Never a good condition ball snap
