STOP <<<<<<&-lt;What does this say?

I am just wondering whether schools are failing us with reading, whether it has a different meaning now than it did when i was at school, has the law changed.
It seems these days that most people think Stop means suit yourself or something. I am stunned at the amount of vehicles that I see driving straight through Stop signs. In fact I am waiting for someone to rear end me when I do stop.

I know what you mean, tis $150 fine if you are caught, I wish I got that money, I would be making $450 a day

Wow, you need to calm done a bit there bro. Getting worked up on the small stuff must see you having a complete meltdown if something really does go wrong. You'll live longer :)

WOT.!driving straight through stop signs is small stuff.
Maybe when someone T bones you when all your kids are in the car you'll think otherwise.

Sorry but the OP has a valid point, stop signs are put where they are for a reason, as opposed to give way signs, and are often treated in the same way which is not correct, theres a hell of a lot of near misses at intersection because of this.Any enforcement crackdown should be welcomed IMO.

wrong2, Mar 17, 7:37am
if you can see both ways before you have to turn, theres no need for a complete stop

wrong2, Mar 17, 7:40am
yes, overly cautious ones

(on occasion)

.right

74nova, Mar 17, 9:13am
Their you go, Another Dumb arse brain dead attitude. what a dick.

_peas, Mar 17, 9:14am
Totally agree. You should be ready to stop but rolling through a stop at ~5kph isn't going to stop you pulling up in time if you have to.Some stop signs are totally understandable, others like right turn red arrows at intersections are only there to hinder traffic flow.Drivers have brains, they can work out when to stop for themselves. If they can't they shouldn't hold licenses.

sabbath-black, Mar 17, 9:15am
.and another sheep.stay in line, do as you are told, bend over with a smile and take it up the rear. wants a dick

msigg, Mar 17, 9:18am
Yes I agree with 74nova. well said.

74nova, Mar 17, 9:35am
If I had $1 for every idiot like you I come across EVERY DAY I wouldn't have to be driving on the roads working.

sabbath-black, Mar 17, 9:36am
.you are old enough to drive!

pnh4, Mar 17, 9:48am
Lights are no different, a fact of life here in busy AK, Amber means speed up just make it through, red means amber made me do it, then theres someone behind you saying well he just went through so will I.

gunhand, Mar 17, 12:54pm
I fully agree, How had is it to obey one of the most basic rules ever put in a road code. You gotta wonder what these types are like with the rest of there road habbits if they can not understand that simple one. Im pretty sure most two year olds could get there heads around it even.
I like watching stop signs when the wife is in a boring shop and I can tell you its all sorts of ages all sorts of cars, vans, buses, trucks and motorbikes that don't stop. And prob on avereage 1 in 5 will actually stop.
At $150 a time I would only need 30 mins a day worth to be happy as.

bill-robinson, Mar 17, 3:39pm
as far as I can tell you need to be able to read and understand english to hold a license. so if you cannot read and understand a simple4 letter word you should not be driving. the shape of the sign covers tourists before the idiots start.
