I can see why MTA have Murph, trumpeting for them,re WOF regime changes. Took a car to VTNZ testing station, late model car, failed " equalise rear brakes "28% difference.( max allowable is 20% ) Went straight to workshop where mechanic told me disc brakes cannot be adjusted to equalise, so he would have to pull everything apart and fix whatever was wrong , would cost between $300- $400, could even be a bit more, depending on what`s wrong. I said ,i`ll have a think about it and come back . I droveto another VTNZ branch had a re check and it passed. Something smells.

VTNZ has been sold, must be some thing wrong, or person operating rollers doesnt know what he is doing

Maybe that article was about Jevic making an offer for VINZ, nothing to do with VTNZ.

Service brakes, i spoke to another mechanic, he said it is possibly because when i took the car to the first station ,in the morning, the car had only travelled 2 kms , so brakes would be cold, but when i went to the second, it had travelled about 60kms and they would have been hot, and that apparently can make a difference.

No, not Apus, Jevic, NZ arm of Yokohama based international inspection co. $2.15 per share

Were the front brakes even! If answer is yes then there is/was a problem with the rears.

So WHY are you saying you were ripped off! The brakes were out of balance and are now not. Incidently the mechanic that told you it was always a majorwas wrong. There are a number of things you can adjust or change that will affect rear foot brake performance. Yes if its the prop valve is faulty it can be a bugger
pauldw,

That was the VINZ deal, original offer was $1.85 per share. Not VTNZ

WOF rip off
Considering there is no advantage to the WoF issuer, ie they dont do the remedial work I doubt that they are "Ripping" you off
