Wof or CoF

I was looking at a car listed at Turners . Family saloon, petrol and it has a CoF not a WoF. What is the difference and why does a family saloon have a COF!

vtecintegra is correct.

Put the rego in on www.carjam.co.nz, i'll bet it it will have: Vehicle Use: Rental.

CoF is more expensive than a WoF, so if you buy the car, get it re-registered so it's listed as: Vehicle Use: Private.

cof is only required for above or if its 3501 kg by manufacturer specs heavy.
We had a builders small truck it was 3540kg and needed a cof because of the 40kg extra on the manufacturers specs plate. up to 3.5 ton its wof

also i would becarfull stuff sold at your specific place has got 0 comback no guarantee nothing less protection then buying from private. plus the fact that the vehicle was a taxi probably dont adds to wanting to buy it.

Change of usage is required, not a biggy, just form filing.

Erm, unless its a taxi or rental vehicle.

Thannks for the answers. I'm suprised Turners arent required to state clearly the previous uses if it was a taxi or rental. Intrade I have no problem buying from Turners - with care I have the same protection asbuying from a private source.

I bought an ex taxi with a cof. All I did was get a warrant at the appropiate time. No other issues. Also when I did have a taxi and got a new car I just used the old one as the family car and got a warrant instead of a cof.

I'm far more concerned about its previous use not disclosed than worrying about changing back to a WoF.
