Alot of textile jackets do leak. I have a tenkic and it's a great riding jacket but leaks like the proverbial sink. I have a jacket to put on over the top. That keeps the water out nicely. Just a pain to pull on and off. Some of the newer jackets are compleatly waterproof but you pays for whats you gets

Bloody things petty new too. I wonder how that spray on stuff would effect the breathable outer material!

If it's near new, why don;t you contact the shop you purchased it from to see if it's covered under warranty! In a lot of cases, the lack of waterproofness could be cos it needs cleaning. I'd suggest not to use scotchgard or an of the other spray on products UNLESS they're approved by DriRider, it might damage the waterproofing, and void any warranty.

I have a Spidi jacket that leaks.eventually. It would seem to be the last thing to worry about this year! There is a bees wax product that can be rubbed into the seams. I did that to my leather jacket and it helped keep it dry.

I haveseveral jackets, Dririder, Teknic, Spidi , Leatt, and a couple of other brands. The Dririder is the most waterproof. They are all waterproof from new, ( except Spidi) and then usually deteriorate as they get older and dirtier. They are so cheap now it is easier to buy a new one every 3 years than to buy the correct waterproofing and was and treat them.

Get it washed WELL and dried, be gentle with it and that should stop the leaks. The dirtier they are the worse they leak. Just a bit of a pain in the arse to dry them nicely. Dry it gently too, as it is a nuisance if you displace the armour pads.
Good luck :) Oh, and if you have a set of dririder gloves or are thinking about purchasing some, they are just about impossible to dry, have tried drip drying, tumble drying, microwave, hot air tubes, whatever. It doesn't work! Best option seems to be to go back to non waterproof gloves and just get over wet hands

When washing them make sure you get a product specific for washing these jackets. Can be bought from bike shops that sell the gear.

Under very close scrutiny the stitching on the inner lining has come away in the arm pit. This is the rain barrier between the outer Cordura and the inner winter lining. It was the area where the water first started to leak through the jacket so I will get that sorted.

I used to use a product called Dubbin years ago on my wax cottons, used to keep them dry.

Agreed! I want one with the 3/4 sleeves like this and they eiehtr fit bulky or awkward. Jackets can be harder to fit than jeans sometimes! I wish I could put on a leather jacket. Still 85 degrees here.
