Absolutely hosing down in Auckland and the pasture in Cornwall park is growing like triffeds already.some very happy sheep and cows grazing there today.their eyes are seriously crossed with delight !.

woody1946, Mar 17, 3:02pm
Talk about slippery, Its a hoot by the Fonterra dairy factory where the tankers come out, a good mixture of milk, oil, rubber, then a shower of rain makes it like ice

pico42, Mar 17, 3:24pm
It is detergent being released from the bitumous road surface.

jason18, Mar 17, 3:28pm
Took the xa out today. 351 + Bridgestone eagars + LSD made for some hairy driving. Pretty much just drove her home. Cant afford to lose my licence

pnh4, Mar 17, 3:30pm
and even more dangerous for front wheel drives, & more again if they're heavy ones once in a slide.

NZTools, Mar 17, 3:35pm
Front wheel drives are generaly better behaved in slippery conditions than rear drives. A bit much throttle wont put you unto a slide or spin in a front wheel drive.

intrade, Mar 17, 3:40pm
thats partial to do with the crap tyres you got .

jason18, Mar 17, 4:47pm
Yeap pretty much. they are fine in the dry

trade4us2, Mar 17, 4:51pm
My traction control kicked in twice today. A car had crashed on the next corner. The roads are very slippery.

morrisman1, Mar 17, 4:52pm
yeap, watch the FWD cars carve up at the race track when the heavens open. Happens every time!

purple666, Mar 17, 4:59pm
Kiamai's must be slippery, fire engines been past 3 times this afternoon heading up 27.

Matamata side

wrong2, Mar 17, 5:05pm
thats pathetic

purple666, Mar 17, 5:09pm
Happens every times it rains after a dry spell.

rob_man, Mar 17, 5:09pm
The slipperiest spots are from cyclists being smeared across the asphalt.

paulap, Mar 17, 5:54pm
Usual crash in the same spot where I work. Happens every time it rains after a dry spell. And another crash when I was heading home.

trogedon, Mar 17, 6:04pm
I thought you wanted that paint back.

lookoutas, Mar 17, 7:34pm
Na just throw it on the road with all my soap.

electromic, Mar 17, 7:55pm
Drove back to hamilton from Waingaro hot pools today in the stagea full load people/ pa system/ trailer full of wet camping gear. The road was wet but not slippery, felt like a dry road to me, the 245/45/18 Yokohamas have excellent wet weather grip.

meathead_timaru, Mar 17, 8:51pm
NZers are shocking drivers.

pnh4, Mar 18, 2:15am
But once in a slide in a fwd your just a passenger, at least I can apply the power which in turn corrects the vehicle in rwd.

trader_84, Mar 18, 5:12am
No matter how hard and fast I slam the loud pedal to the floor in the mightly Lux . it fails to spin the tires. It has all of the right ingredients . 32's, lift, solid axle and the grunty 2.8 series of diesel . what can be wrong!
