A verson of the factory shop manual is available on the net but I can't for the life of me remember where I found it but it was a UK site.As far as the immobiliser goes from what I've read its a nasty French plot to bring the motoring world to it's knees. As a first try I'd disconnect the battery again and be very careful how you reconnect it.Make sure every electric item is turned off (interior light, radio etc) and try to avoid arcing when putting the bat terminals back on.It that's no help them I have no idea but fear it might be a job for a Renault dealer (good luck on finding one) or a very competent auto sparky.

The Scenic has been in production for 15 years minimum, all have immobilisers later models have key-less ignition. Give us a clue on the year!

Here's a link that might help http://www.meganeownersclub.co.uk/forum/ That then links to the shop manual but you have to hunt for the chapter that covers the immobiliser

Oh and as a ps whilst some Renault have an OBD2 plug they also have lots of brand specific sockets for all sorts of processes. You might actually need a thing called a Renault Clip Tool to reset things. Some models used XR25 tool."Viva la france".Good luck
