Wingroad throttle body and MAF

jason18, Mar 25, 3:55pm
Oh ok. I notcied the trottle is slightly open at the moment instead of being totally closed off is this normal! Thats when the car is not running. And you can push the butterfly down more to seal it

Good old j.dogg and b is watching haha

mm12345, Mar 25, 3:56pm
If it has an IACV, then yeah, I expect the butterfly should be closed at idle.Maybe you twisted the cable - or don't have it set up right.

jason18, Mar 25, 3:58pm
Yeah i suspect I have maybe jammed in to much cleaner! And maybe wrecked it

jason18, Mar 25, 3:58pm
Looks all computer controlled

jason18, Mar 25, 4:15pm
Battery disconnected and no difference. Might just take into Nissan

Y10 - Y11 or Y12 Model! Engine Type! Fly by Wire throttle!

jason18, Mar 25, 4:32pm
Y12 MR18DE. Throttle looks like its all controlled electronically
Sorry all info was in my other thread but someone had it deleted

jason18, Mar 25, 4:35pm
2009 Wingroad. ALl running fine. I decided to clean throttle body out and spray maf with maf cleaner as I was doing air filter oil etc so went full hog! Went to far im thinking. Not it will rev fine upwards but coming own revs will shoot down quickly. Then go up a little. then rest at about 1300 revs thats at full engine temp. and it fluctuates as it idles

jmma, Mar 25, 4:57pm
Yeah, well, enough of that, Lets put your thread back on track.
Can someone help out jason(o:

mm12345, Mar 25, 5:09pm
Not me.Some fly by wire throttles need to re-learn positions, but he's disconnected battery and still no good. Some need to be reprogrammed, which might mean a trip to nissan dealer, $$$, and heaven forbid if they think the throttle body needs to be replaced if it's poked, which would be the easy fix from Nissan.
What was wrong with cables!Oh that's right - they stick occasionally, it's complex to set up cruise control, they need a $0.50c potentiometer (in a $100 OEM plastic case) for a TPS in ECU controlled engines, but also they're simple and "user serviceable".

jason18, Mar 25, 5:11pm
Yeah I reckon. I prefer my 351 clevo! I will take it to nissan and see what they say.

jason18, Mar 25, 5:11pm
Thanks for your help mate

mm12345, Mar 25, 5:17pm
good luck - don't pay out for expensive parts from Nissan without looking elsewhere for an answer first.I trust my local Nissan franchise about as well as I trust politicians.

jason18, Mar 25, 5:31pm
Yeah for sure. Im just going for a diagnostic I think then will price it elsewhere

jason18, Mar 25, 5:50pm
Took it for a long drive. In gear sits about 900rpmOut of gear 1300rpm. driving is fine. Check engine light is on. Thats when I disconnected maf while car was running. Feels like an air leak to me the revs go up fine but then go down slowly then suddenly shoots down like normally should,

Update. Taken to nissan, Ran the consult on car. Cleared the fault codes and carried out idle air volume learn to set base idle and now car is perfect. $75 bucks! Thank god. Cheers for all the help guys!
