Here's one for ya Just did the front spring seats on a Volvo 850 and after driving it decides to lower itself, but after a while it comes back up to normal ride height. The springs are almost binding on themselves when this happens. Shocks seem okay and they wouldn't make such a difference anyway.
Sagging/cracked/weak springs!

describe thesuspension type! i thought these had an air assist type if strut type check for a bent shaft.

Volvo 850 is just standard macpherson strut at the front and delta-link trailing arms in the rear - no air to be seen.

Yup as Phillip said. Some wagons had Nivomat self leveling rear, but mine is a sedan.

I'll just throw new shocks/springs at it. May as well, it's all OEM and it's done 190k. Doesn't cost a heap to do either
