"Sticking throttle"

ever had a car have its throttle stick open !.aparantly the guy in the yellow lamborghini soft top on the way to the Leadfoot festival did. After watching two guys do some bloody awfull overtaking moves on the way to Tairua we saw the yellow one damaged on opposite of road on the first real sharp lefthandcorner out of Tairuaheadin to Hahei . I saw the guy in the Balck one on Friday morning and quizzed him on the Yellow one ." throttle stuck open".Maybe the more expensive the car the more prone they are to faults like this ! . Money obviously couldnt buy talent by the looks of it.

maybe he is just telling porkies because he cant drive!you can flick it out of gear if the throttle is stuck open and then stop and turn ignition off you know.

Years ago, test driving a friends Morrie Minor that I'd just given a bit of TLC, I was approaching an intersection, accelerating through about 25 when the light changed ahead.

So back off the accelerator and attempt to depress the brake. The edge of my boot caught under the lip of the brake pedal, resulting in a fair percentage of throttle still open, and no braking action. With half a second to make a "D", I decided to run the red, under all the power the wee Morrie could muster, keeping my eyes peeled.

I had to give a warning toot to a motorcyclist who was about to take off. We would have been close to a collision course. That bike was a traffic cop, of course. I might have saved his life with that toot. He did go easy on me.

Moral: Wear shoes that are an appropriate size for the vehicle controls.

I thought that you had to have 2 Morrie Minors - one for each foot.
