My 1/2 brother was a pretty thick boyracer in the '70s (he's a lot older than me) and he doesn't seem to have developed many more brain cells in the intervening years.

You know what makes me laugh.these boy racers are the ones usually that dont have their cars up to spec, are usually driving heaps of crap and should be stopped by the police all the time and the cars squashed. My son to some would be classed as a "Boy Racer" cos he has a show/drag car BUT lets see the difference. Son has spent thousands of $$$$ to have it vin'd,up to spec etc Only gets driven on show or race days Would NEVER dream of dragging it at illegal drags Even trailered it last night to the Drag War comp cos he wanted to keep his race tyres on and knew if he drove it down it wouldnt pass if Police checked Even tho its wof & reg and street legal you wouldn't wanna be driving it on the road!
BUT.all the silly boy racers abused the police and the Facebook car sites acouple of weekends ago cos they turned up to the Drag Wars and cops were all over their cars like a rash. They didn't think it was on and said they wouldn't come back if the cops were going to be there again. You can guarantee alot of their cars weren't legal, some had registered their cars as tractors or camper vans cos its cheaper and most wouldn't have passed a wof. Gee you can't even race at this comp if your car isn't wof'd or registered. GOOD on the police I say - get rid of these cowboys that give people like my son a bad name! AND also where are the parents! Would you let your son/daughter drive round in a illegal car!

LOL, I . HAVE seen something similar a few years ago. I was in a local town cop shop at a counter that faces on to the street sorting out another issue when this teen in his hot jappa & skank, pulls up & parks next to the station on the wrong side of the road (apparently coming in to pay a speeding ticket.) I saw it, pointed the cops view to out the window to it & next thing that happens is the cop reaching under the counter for a ticket book & marchs outside to write the teen a ticket for parking on the wrong side of the road. Cop told us why the teen was there originally. We all had a good old laugh over that .

Agreed, if your car is up to spec, then why the agro about having it checked at an event that attracts the dimwits by the bucket load. Better to get the dimwits off the road so that at the next event, theres very likely to be a lot less dimwits because they don't want to get caught in a spot check.
If your vehicle is up to spec, then it's only going to take a few minutes & after a couple of checks at events, theres every chance that the cops won;t even bother to check the proven legal regulars.

Reckon it would be funny if some 60yr+ old people i.e. residents that have been annoyed by them turn up an get in amongst them , (with baseball caps on and FTP t-shirts etc etc) , and do burnouts , start fights and abuse the police , giving the protest group more of a bad name.
get a life is the only thing that makes sense after watching a few hundred bogan inbreds on tonites news. I especially loved the fat chick in the tight dress that didnt cover her crotch, ewwwww, pass the bucket.
