In a male dominated field, I am a female with a passion for cars, engines and classic cars especially. I am dying to pull an engine to bits, and put it back together. I've been self-teaching myself for afew years now, about engines etc but I need an old dunger to play with to cement things in place. Unfortunately (but fortunately) my own car is so well cared for that at nearly 300000km (1.3L) she looks like she's going to have a lot of life left in her yet, so I hope I won't have to disect her anytime soon. My question is, does anyone have an engine, or car with an engine, running badly//badly, or not running, unwanted, that I could have! I understand that this is quite an odd request and I'll probably be lucky to get any response, but, I have to try. The answer can only be 'silence'. Thanks for reading this anyway. My profession right now is nursing.great except it's kinda nice that sick engines can't talk back lol. I am in North West Auckland area. Thanks.

I have a Nissan KA24DE that you can have for scrap value. Just removed it from a vehicle and can probably deliver it too. Complete, except for manifolds and anciliaries. It's just a double overhead cam four cylinder, alloy head on an iron block.

Not sure. Haven't weighed it, but it'll be taken to be scrapped on Tuesday. Contact me through one of my auctions if you're still interested.

Scrap is about $200 per ton so engine alone wont be worth much at all considering a whole car would be about 1.5 ton (and thats a generous figure). Scrap dealers pay between $200-$450 for a full car weight dependent. I would guess most scrap yards would be able to help you out with a dunga for a box of beers ;)

Start by pulling you motor mower to bits and see if you can get it going again.

Why not buy a cheap car that is in good condition apart from the engine. That way you could sell at a profit once finished.

Never ever would have thought to do that! Depending on what I could get that might be a great thing to do
