I'm just after the quickest ;-) I will be keeping the 750. might trick it out with any go-fast bits I can find. Does something like a power commander side step the 180kph limiter on imports?

The quickest to what, 50kph, 100kph, 200kph, 300kph or 320kph? Or do you want the fastest top speed? There's virtually nothing between all the new sports/hyper bikes anyway.

INDICATED 300. is generally a real 285. Ok that's ONLY based on a mate with a speed gun being end of pukie back " straight" when I was lucky enough to punt three thous around the place. K5 gixxer,R1 and Honda cbr thou.-Wow just realised that was 8 years ago

Theres a Lil black box that fixes everything. Talk to anybody racing an older F3 bike. They have all had the speed limiter bypassed.

I have a mint '85 gsxr750f 27000 mls under a dust cover in the back of my shed, hasn't been riden for 10 years, shame it's red and black, oh and not for sale. (Part of my retirement fund)

even though the blue & white colour scheme was the popular & more along the lines of standard Suzuki colours I always liked the red & black. or the later black & silver of the first slingshots
mals69,
Nov 18, 7:54am
Red and Black ? It might think its a Honda and go faster
whqqsh,
Nov 18, 8:18am

kazbanz,
Nov 18, 8:53am

When was the present/status quo ancient history ?

just one of most important parts that makes the motor go huh? I owned one of the CB900 Rolladoors that had these famous cams, the dealer said it was a major flaw & the factory replacements weren't any better, but his biggest concern was the 'new' (back then) VF models were coming out just as bad. They had nearly a 10 year run of poor design & quality over several models that they never addressed. BTW pot/kettle?

Cheap flights to Houston. Buy online or set up some look sees. Nice shopping holiday. Maybe not ideal for a 85 GSXR750. Harley shopping, no problem. Fat Boys under $8K US

Suzuki had more than its fair share of problems - spring on a stick tl1000s for one - only a major component that aids in one staying alive.
whqqsh,

one model? is that it? at least the issue didn't run for a decade across a series of models.

You seem to not know about the gsxr brake recall that spanned 9 years. Corrosion of the brake piston. Suzuki's do the job but interms of build quality its like comparing a mazda with a toyota, ring ya local bike mechanic and no doubt he will be singing from the same hymn sheet. To be fair I would own a gixser or tls, but their is a reason why suzukis are cheaper than honda to begin with - same applies to their cars.
