Hey guys. Getting pretty desperate here so thought I would put up a post and see if any of you can point me in the right direction.
So I have the above car, 1989 Toyota AE86 Trueno. Im trying to get this back on the road and im SO close to finally finishing this project! However, I am a few parts shy of getting his back on the road. What I need is someone to point me in the right direction to find some of the body parts. I need wing mirrors and exterior door trim and some other fiddly parts. So if any of you know where I can look or of anyone how may have the parts please point me in the right direction. I know at this is a very far fetched ask but im running out of ideas. Thamks in advance guys!

Would the mirrors be the same as ae92 Corolla ?

If it's 1989, it isn't an AE86. It will be an AE92.
If it was an AE86 you would need to remortgage your house to pay for trim.

I wonder if that's why OP is finding it hard to get bits - he's looking for the wrong model ?

try taumarunui wreckers and horopito motors , they both stock vast ammounts of old stuff

Intrade, Horopito isn't the place for collectible JDM tin.
OP, if it's a genuine Hachiroku AE86, then be prepared to source from outside New Zealand- or at least pay serious money- for trim. That sort of stuff is as rare as the proverbial, as the cars themselves are so highly collectible.
If, however, you're right on the year (and not on the model) then maybe try the likes of the Pick A Part network here in Auckland, or maybe even Zebra.
Another dismantler that used to have a lot of interesting Japanese stuff was Thames Partsworld- Hugh sold the business many years ago but I'm pretty sure a lot of the inventory remains.
Good luck!

Sorry SHE got her years mixed up, was thinking of the other car when typing this. The car in question is 1985. Im thinking that buying in NZ will be not happening. Have been able to find something over seas but need to get a 2nd job just to pay for postage.

Hi thanks for that. And I did type the wrong year.
Thanks for that. Have just been told that none of the models listed on that site will match.
