I learned years ago that every time you idiot proof something a new breed of idiot will come along and screw things up. Here is one of those

And no one here has ever done anything similar when it is the only way out of a spot?

I have, but not for that reason. I "dressed up" a tow bar to look like that. attracted a lot of attention, the wof guys nearly pi$$ed themselves.

Well they could have at least got the tow bar in the middle of the bumper lol.

I once, prob 25 years back, seen a guy holding the trailer coupling from the back of a ute. It was empty and funny as. The funniest bit was him trying to hold it under braking

Long time ago when I lived in a country town starting with a "T",the local cops recovered a stolen trailer. the cop car had no towbar,so one of them was going to sit in the boot and hold the drawbar to take it back to the cop shop.
I said, here grab my company ute, just bring it back when you've finished.

I think they just made up that story so they could borrow the ute.

T for Thames?

Whatever the circumstance, good on you for letting the Police use your vehicle.

The general public needs to help the NZ Police as much as possible where practical.
