What is this plug

Hi all

One of our cars at home has a cable in the centre console obviously for connecting to a phone, however it doesn't fit in any of our phones.

I was wondering
A: is it a specific plug for a specific device?
B: can you buy adaptors for the plug and if so where from?

First photo is what plugs into the car the second is what goes into the device probably about 3/4 inch wide

looks like a adapter for one of these 2 things , either for a mp3 ipod thingy to connect to the radio. or you have had a internal mobile phone system wired in the car and that adapter plugs to a older mobile phone.
these are the 2 things i can think off right now seeing the 2 pictures

I'm pretty sure that it is for a music device or smartphone- they car is a 2008 Nissan Fuga, it is not for a car phone as there are no buttons or functions in the media unit for one (other than Bluetooth)

Being a JDM vehicle I wonder if it is for an obscure Japanese device, but surely there must be adaptors?

what ever you do dont mess with the radio wiring the whole a nissan of that years wont even open the throttle plate to let air in the engine if 1 of the 21 can data bus items is not reporting back in to the bus as ok.

its a connector for the polyphase perhydride adapter.

Your car will not climb Aoraki without it.

Whats that?

Sometimes known as Mt Cook :)

Aaaargh! :)
I know that!

The plug. with the oddball name. that's what I meant.
And you jolly well know that.

"polyphase perhydride adapter"

Is that like a relay, to boost electrical current?
(similar to that we used to use in headlights in order to run 100w bulbs.)

Its a leg pull - I don't have a clue what it is for sorry.

It is for the flux capacitor option.

I think it is the same plug that my 03 E65 BMW had in the centre console, music adaptor of some description or though it was a Japanese import so could be wrong

Ha ha!
You really had me going there.
