WOF guy started to grizzle about old cars, then drove it, brake test etc, hoisted it up & checked underneath, dropped her down & commented how for a nearly 20 year old car its one of the best he's driven. & "do you want to sell it, especially as its a V8" . nah, I think I'll keep her a bit longer lol Drove it to work today instead of the ute, it may be more expensive to run but smiles per gallon it sure does the job

Yep understand, I have a mint xb, 460 bbf, worked, 3 inch exhaust nine inch sd, and fully reconditioned c6,car goes and sounds hard. You cant beat the sound of a ford v8! .

mmm 460, yum, unfortunately mines only a baby 302. but the jailbar in the garage has got 460 & starting to get moving on it again after going through the 'do I sell it or carry on' dilemma.

:) love this. Can't beat them. neighbour has a brand new rumbling 8 holden he's so proud of. starts it up and all I can hear is plastic. 1955 ranchero down the road starts up. (can hear it from way down the road) and my heart does a bit of a pitter patter. nothing like a ford 8. Get in my old coon and it's 'home'. doesn't matter the age. they're reliable, everything you need motoring imo. :)

When it flies through yet again & I see rust popping out in 10 year old cars it aint bad. Considering its done 220,000 kms, still rides as smooth as the new company cars at work (or better, they actually feel harsh to me), uses a cup of oil every blue moon still holds half gauge oil pressure at idle etc etc, Im more than happy with it

Again ,like my old panelbeater mate , used to buy up corrolla DX sw s use them until no longer able to get a warrant . some had patches just welded straight over the rust didnt even bother to paint it same colour as the car . Then he switched to mitsi sigmas wagons & same thing , never did any servicing just top up with cheapest oil could buy . Sold them to wreckers when got past getting a WOF reckons he saved thousands of $$ .

Depends on the WOF guy not just the car.

Nah, Ive owned plenty of both & Chevs may be easier & cheaper to work on & modify but the Fords sure sound better in general. My bucket had a 350 Chev & it sounded great but only after I'd put a Crane cam in it with a shitload of overlap.
