Finding the body of a dead solicitor shouldn't be too difficult. But being serious .Untill you have found the carcase you are wasting your time trying to get rid of the smell, You may need to remove seats etc to find it.

Reminds me of a Jaguar Mk2 or maybe a Mk7 , I was asked to dismantle the woodgrain dashboard to be repaired and repolished, I was removing the glovebox etc, and up in behind the glovebox was a rat skeleton, many years old and well dried out but still not a pleasant sight to come across.

Soak a rag in saddle oil (or some other strong leather conditioner.)
Hide the rag under the driver's seat.
The inside of the car will now smell like a classic.

Nilodour from supermarkets etc, comes as a spray or as a tiny bottle that you use just 1-2 drops at a time(suggest 1-2 on each front carpet so heater spreads it) Bought a 4wd that someone died in once, stank every hot day, but after treatment, smell never returned. (great for cat pee and spilt milk too).

In my experience dead rats only smell for a few weeks.
